Persepolis

Persepolis an autobiography about the life of Marjane Satrapi. An interesting story about Marjane's life growing up in an Iran, and facing religious and political turmoil every step of the way. She moved out of Iran in fear of the regime that shadowed her life. So she went to Vienna, Austria, where she lived in a boarding house. Ran by nuns. Marjane, although independent and headstrong, has her beliefs get her legally in trouble. Her passions lie in social activism. She hopes one day to see solutions for social inequalities and a world where old people do not need to suffer. This book doesn't take much time if you are dedicated to reading it. Although I really liked this book due to it's more realistic and serious nature. Taught me a lot about the issues back then, and even currently. If this sounds interesting, or you just want to learn more about this conflict and the perspective of someone who actually lived th
rough it, you should check out this book.
